HOT POT TALK: Cooking up Recipes
is a participatory zine-making project with migrant writers in Singapore, looking at ‘recipes’ as means of expressing, exchanging, and sharing of personal memory, identity and agency.
What makes a recipe, a recipe?
Over several weeks, we gathered, ate, laughed, cried, and dreamt together of the kinds of world(s) we each want to live in.
Each session, we created our own recipe-zines for our past and future selves, for our dreams, and as articulations of the small steps we take towards those worlds we dream of.

As part of this project, we’ve created a collated zine (designed and edited by Alecia Neo; Phoo Myet Che, Pearl; and Chong Gua Khee), bringing together some of the flavours of the recipe-zines created by the participants.
Whilst a digital version is free-to-view online, you can also support this project by purchasing a limited print edition, available from the Objectifs Shop for SGD25.
*Proceeds from the sales go towards covering the costs of the project, including artist and participant fees, as well as material and printing costs.
